Teacher Appreciation Week is this week at my son’s school. Today the school’s suggested gift is “Gift Card.” As discussed on previous posts of this week, the school sent home a list of suggested gifts of the week:
Monday: Small plant or flower
Tuesday: A small sweet treat
Wednesday: A note from the student.
Thursday: Gift card (for example a $5 iTunes gift card)
Friday: A classroom supply (glue, hand sanitizer, markers, etc)
For Christmas we gave her a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card. That’s where his teacher enjoys getting her coffee since there is a convenient location near the school. I wanted to do something different.
This time I choose an Amazon Gift Card. Honestly, it was for convenience! The reason is because I had a busy week and I knew I wouldn’t want to stop at a store to run in and buy a gift card (with 3-4 kids in tow). Amazon Prime does free 2 day shipping! Even for a physical gift card (not an e-mailed code). And really – who doesn’t shop on Amazon? The nice thing is you an specify the amount you want on the gift card – like at most stores.
My dad was the high school art teacher while I was growing up. My mom and multiple sisters have degrees in education, as well as myself. Teachers have an important role and they deserve to be acknowledged! I’m grateful I have a chance to thank my son’s teacher right along side of him.
